About the Role
Reporting directly to Jonathan (CTO & Cofounder), you will work closely with our founders to drive the product vision while owning the end-to-end strategy and execution of our platform. This is a key strategic hire for the next phase of our growth, and you will play a critical role in shaping the product, defining what to build, and ensuring we deliver exceptional value to our customers and users.
As our first product hire, this role offers significant ownership and impact. You will have the opportunity to scale the product, influence the company’s trajectory, and establish the foundation for a growing product function as we expand.
What you’ll be doing
As Product Lead, you will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, owning the product strategy and roadmap while collaborating closely with engineering, design, and other teams to deliver massively impactful solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Shaping Product Strategy: Work closely with our founders to define the overall product strategy for Borderless.
- Owning the Roadmap: Create and manage the product roadmap, making critical decisions to prioritise features and improvements that deliver the most value for our customers.
- Systems Thinking: Understand the Borderless platform as a whole, knowing where to apply product, technology or human operations to achieve the fastest and most valuable outcomes for our customers
- Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate product strategy, priorities, and progress to stakeholders across the organisation.
- Understanding User Needs: Develop a deep understanding of customer pain points and how Borderless can best support their immigration needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and design teams to create clear product requirements and ensure smooth execution.
- Feedback & Iteration: Gather & analyse user feedback and data from customers and internals teams (e.g. Customer and Immigration teams) to continuously refine the product and guide decision-making.
- Establishing Product Best Practices: Iteratively build out the most effective product processes, enabling us to ship product & value fast
You should apply if:
- You have founder-level entrepreneurial energy, zest and grit to build a global company
- You’re driven to make a meaningful impact, take pride in owning your work, and value accountability for yourself and others. You thrive in open, honest environments where feedback is welcomed, and you approach challenges with confidence and resilience.
- You have proven experience in product management and a strong track record of 0-to-1 product development in a startup environment, ideally owning a platform or a significant part of one.
- You’re an excellent communicator who can collaborate with stakeholders across all levels, from highly technical team members to non-technical audiences. Your clarity of thought allows you to simplify complex problems into actionable solutions.
- You’re naturally curious and eager to absorb knowledge, with the confidence and insight to engage thoughtfully and collaboratively with our founders.
- You work effectively with engineers, articulating clear requirements and aligning on what needs to be built.
- You challenge the status quo, questioning assumptions and bringing a fresh perspective to problem-solving.
- You’re a culture champion - you emulate our values.
